Project Owner

Medium-Level

Location: United States or Turkey only. We do not hire outside these countries.

What you will deliver (first 90 days)

  • 3+ active projects running on a two-week cadence with clear roadmaps and risk logs.
  • Backlogs with ready tickets (≥2 sprints ahead) and acceptance criteria for each story.
  • On-time sprint delivery rate ≥85% and blocker time <10% of sprint hours.
  • Baseline metrics per project (cycle time, escaped defects, NPS/CSAT) with weekly reporting.
  • One “quick win” release per project that moves a business KPI (sign-ups, conversion, latency, or support tickets).

Responsibilities

  • Own scope. Define goals, success metrics, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Run discovery. Write lean PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Create simple flows or wireframes when needed.
  • Plan delivery. Build roadmaps, estimate with the team, and maintain a two-sprint-ready backlog.
  • Lead cadence. Standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros with crisp notes and decisions.
  • Unblock fast. Surface risks early, cut scope safely, and negotiate priorities with stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality. Partner with QA on test plans and release checklists. Sign off on Definition of Done.
  • Communicate. Weekly updates to clients and internal leadership with status, risks, and next steps.
  • Manage vendors and integrations. Coordinate APIs, credentials, and timelines.
  • Track outcomes. Instrument releases, read the data, and iterate.
  • Support sales handoff. Shape SOWs, timelines, and assumptions. Ensure clean kickoff.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a Project Owner, Product Owner, Technical PM, or Delivery Lead role at a software agency or startup.
  • Proven record shipping web/mobile products end-to-end on two-week sprints.
  • Strong backlog management. You write stories that engineers can start without meetings.
  • Comfortable with technical detail: APIs, environments, CI/CD, error budgets, and non-functional requirements.
  • Excellent written communication. Clear docs, tight updates, and decisive issue threads.
  • Tools: Jira or Linear, Notion or Confluence, Figma, GitHub/GitLab, Slack.
  • Time-zone overlap: minimum 4 hours with Pacific Time or Türkiye time, depending on team.
  • Based in the United States or Turkey.

Nice to have

  • Agency experience across multiple simultaneous clients.
  • Domain exposure: marketplaces, healthtech, AI/LLM features, embedded/IoT, or B2B SaaS.
  • Basic analytics skills: GA4, Mixpanel, or SQL for simple checks.
  • Familiarity with Sharetribe, Shopify, or mobile (Flutter/React Native) delivery.

How we work

  • Two-week sprints, demo every sprint, release often.
  • “MVP first” mindset. Ship the smallest slice that proves value, then iterate.
  • Written decisions > meetings. Defaults live in the repo or Notion.
  • Quality bar: Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, and release checklists on every project.

What to include in your application

  • Resume or LinkedIn.
  • Two short artifacts you authored (PRD, user stories, roadmap, or release plan).
  • A brief note on a project where you cut scope to hit a date and the outcome.
